Take-Two Earnings Confirm GTA 6 Summer Marketing Blitz, Light on TV Ads
Take-Two's fiscal 2026 earnings reaffirmed GTA 6's November 19 release and confirmed a major marketing campaign starts this summer, with little network TV spend unlike GTA 5 in 2013.
Take-Two Interactive used its latest earnings call to put two things on the record: Grand Theft Auto VI is still on track for November 19, and the marketing campaign players have been waiting for is finally about to begin. CEO Strauss Zelnick reaffirmed the release date plainly, telling analysts the company has been “really clear that we’re releasing the title on November 19.” After years of anticipation and one prior delay, the message was meant to reassure fans and investors alike that the date is firm.
A Major Campaign Starts This Summer
Zelnick said Rockstar’s marketing push will ramp up as the season turns. “The next few weeks I don’t think it’ll be summertime yet, but when it’s summertime, Rockstar expects to start marketing GTA 6,” he explained. He described the plan as a “very significant, broad-based marketing campaign that reflects where audiences and attention is today” — language that signals a heavy, modern, multi-platform effort rather than a slow trickle of teasers.
One thing the call did not deliver was pricing. Asked directly whether the company would reveal GTA 6’s price, Zelnick declined, noting Take-Two does “not make marketing announcements” during analyst calls. The price therefore remains officially unconfirmed.
A Deliberate Shift Away From Network TV
The most notable strategic detail was how different this campaign will look from the 2013 launch of GTA 5. Zelnick drew a direct contrast with that era, saying “13 years ago we were still buying network television. We won’t be buying a lot of network television” this time around. The implication is that Rockstar will concentrate spending where its enormous audience now lives — streaming, social, and digital channels — rather than traditional broadcast advertising.
What It Means for the Launch
The comments line up with Take-Two’s financial outlook, which projects roughly $8 billion to $8.2 billion in net revenue for fiscal year 2027 (the year ending March 2027), a figure clearly built around a GTA 6 launch. No new trailer date was officially confirmed on the call, so any specific timing for the next reveal remains speculative for now. With marketing reportedly set to begin in the coming weeks, the long quiet stretch around GTA 6 appears to be ending.
