GTA Online August 6-12: Panther Statue Returns and a Free GTA$1,000,000 for Every Player

With the July 30–August 5 Summer Heist Event still running, Rockstar has also seeded the details for the week that follows — and the August 6–12 update looks like the most player-friendly weekly cycle GTA Online has seen in months.

The Panther Statue Is Guaranteed

Starting August 6, the Panther Statue returns as the guaranteed primary target in El Rubio’s vault during The Cayo Perico Heist. For the duration of the August 6–12 window, players who complete their first Cayo Perico scope and setup will find the Panther Statue waiting in the compound vault — there is no RNG involved in that initial run.

The Panther Statue is one of GTA Online’s highest-value single heist payouts. Normally it appears on rotation alongside other primary targets, but a guaranteed week removes the frustration of repeated scope runs to confirm the loot before committing to a full setup. Players who have not yet done the heist this cycle should hold off until August 6 to maximize their take.

Alongside the Panther Statue, Rockstar is running 2X GTA$ and RP on Assault on Cayo Perico missions and the Cayo Perico Survival mode is returning with bonus rewards for players who can clear three waves. The Kortz Center Heist — which launched on July 14 as GTA Online’s final major content update before GTA 6 — will also receive another rotation of new Primary Targets, with its first-completion bonus resetting again for the week.

End of Summer Giveaway: Log In for GTA$1,000,000

Rockstar is marking the close of summer 2026 with a direct cash drop. Any player who logs into GTA Online at any point between August 6 and August 12 will automatically receive GTA$1,000,000, credited to their Maze Bank account within 72 hours. No heist completion required, no bonus objectives — just logging in is enough.

The giveaway applies to all players regardless of character level or account history. For newer players still building out their criminal empire, a free million is a meaningful head-start on business properties or vehicle garages. For veterans, it is a low-effort bonus to stockpile ahead of whatever GTA 6 Online eventually looks like.

There is no indication the giveaway stacks with GTA+ subscription bonuses, though members may receive their standard additional rewards on top.

What This Means for the Final Months

The August 6–12 update lands at a symbolically significant moment. GTA 6 is confirmed for November 19, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, which means this Cayo Perico week falls roughly 15 weeks before launch. Rockstar confirmed in July that the Kortz Center Heist was GTA Online’s last large-scale content drop — the game is in event-mode now, rotating bonuses and reactivating classic content rather than building anything new.

The End of Summer Giveaway name feels deliberate. Summer 2026 is, functionally, GTA Online’s last summer. After November, the community’s attention shifts to Leonida.
