GTA Online Weekly Update August 27 to September 2: Drift Week and Transform Races

Rockstar's latest GTA Online weekly update adds five new Transform Races, three new Drift Tuning vehicles, six-times weekend rewards, and puts the Karin Sultan Classic on the Lucky Wheel podium.

Rockstar’s GTA Online weekly update for August 27 to September 2, 2026 is a drift-and-racing-themed event week, bringing new content and stacking bonuses across several activity types. With GTA 6 arriving in under three months, Rockstar continues rolling out fresh GTA Online content to keep the game active through the pre-launch window.

New Content Added This Week

Five new Random Transform Races have been added to GTA Online’s race rotation. Transform Races shift the player’s vehicle mid-race — sometimes mid-air — forcing constant adaptation and making them some of the more chaotic race types in the game. Three additional vehicles have also been added to the Drift Tuning upgrade roster, expanding the list of cars that support the drift handling modification at the LS Car Meet.

Players who complete a Drift Race while driving the Übermacht Cypher will receive an exclusive Glitch Camo drift livery for that car, with the reward delivered within 72 hours of qualifying.

Bonuses and Rewards

The headline offer this week is a 6X GTA$ and RP weekend bonus running from August 28 to August 30 on selected Drift Races and Transform Races — a substantial payout for anyone willing to run those playlists across the bank holiday period.

Throughout the full week, the following multipliers are active:

  • 3X GTA$ and RP on Random Transform Races
  • 2X GTA$ and RP on Drift Races and Auto Shop Robbery Contracts
  • GTA$100,000 bonus for completing three Drift Races during the week — separate from race earnings and available once per account

Podium Car, Prize Ride, and Discounts

The Lucky Wheel podium vehicle at the Diamond Casino is the Karin Sultan Classic, a four-door sports car typically priced at GTA$1,718,000 at Southern San Andreas Super Autos. Players get one free spin per day for a chance to land it.

The LS Car Meet Prize Ride is the Dinka Veto Classic go-kart, awarded to anyone who places in the top five at Prize Ride challenges for four consecutive days.

Nine vehicles are available at up to 30% off this week, spanning sports cars, a supercar, an off-road vehicle, an SUV, and two aircraft. The full discount list is posted on the Rockstar Newswire and mirrored by the usual community tracking sites.

GTA Online is available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
