GTA Online Is Not Done Yet: What Rockstar Has Confirmed for the Rest of 2026

The Kortz Center Heist on July 14 was the last major GTA Online DLC, but Rockstar has confirmed weekly bonuses, GTA+ perks, and seasonal events will keep the game running through late 2026.

The Kortz Center Heist, which landed on July 14, is expected to be the last large story-driven content drop for Grand Theft Auto Online. But “last major update” does not mean “servers shutting down” — Rockstar has confirmed that the game will stay active through the rest of 2026 and beyond, and the live-service infrastructure keeping it running is not going anywhere.

What Rockstar Has Confirmed Will Continue

Several categories of content will keep GTA Online moving after the Kortz Center event window wraps:

  • Weekly bonus rotations — Thursday-to-Thursday event weeks with double-money missions, property discounts, and boosted RP have run without interruption since 2013. The current Kortz Center event week runs until July 22, with mansion property discounts extending through August 5. These rotations are expected to continue indefinitely.
  • GTA+ perks — Rockstar’s premium subscription continues with monthly rotating rewards. July’s benefits include the free Grotti Veleno GT from The Vinewood Car Club showroom, stacked multipliers on specific content types, and 50 percent off vehicle conversions at Benny’s and Hao’s Special Works.
  • Seasonal events — Rockstar has referenced forthcoming content tied to the calendar across the rest of 2026. Community observers read those references as signalling the return of Halloween and winter seasonal events, consistent with what the studio has run every prior year. Nothing is confirmed by name yet.

GTA Online Will Run Alongside GTA 6

Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick has been direct on one point: GTA Online will remain supported after Grand Theft Auto VI launches on November 19, 2026. The existing GTA 5 multiplayer will not be switched off on launch day, and players not ready to move on will find an active game waiting for them.

That continuity matters partly because GTA 6 itself is expected to launch without its own online mode — meaning GTA 5 Online remains the only active GTA multiplayer at launch, giving it continued relevance even as attention shifts to the new title.

Kortz Center Heist Is Permanent

Players who missed the July 14 launch week should note that Rockstar confirmed the Kortz Center Heist will remain accessible after the initial event window ends. The stacked bonus payouts — up to roughly GTA$1.9 million during the launch period — will normalise, but the heist itself stays in the game permanently.
