GTA 6 Lands Game Informer Cover Story With 12 New Screenshots and Never-Before-Shared Features
Game Informer Issue 382 arrives September 29 with a 14-page GTA 6 feature, 12 exclusive screenshots, and new details from Rockstar on Leonidas weather systems, wildlife, and the Florida research behind Vice City.
With Grand Theft Auto VI now less than eight weeks from its November 19 release date, Rockstar Games has opened a new window into its world through one of gaming’s longest-standing publications. Game Informer Issue 382, which goes on sale on September 29, 2026, places GTA 6 on its cover and backs that image with a 14-page feature written by senior associate editor Marcus Stewart — a self-described lifelong South Florida native.
What the Feature Covers
Stewart sat down directly with Rockstar’s lead designers to produce a piece Game Informer previewed as containing “never-before-shared features.” According to the magazine’s tease, the reporting focuses on three main areas:
- Advanced weather systems engineered to simulate the full range of Florida’s climate — from clear subtropical days through the violent tropical storms the region is known for.
- Wildlife across land, sea, and air, with Rockstar reportedly describing Leonida’s fauna as a “staggering” presence woven throughout the open world.
- Florida research methodology — how the studio studied Miami and its surrounding areas to reconstruct Vice City as a credible modern analogue of South Florida.
The 12 new exclusive screenshots accompanying the feature represent the largest single batch of official in-game imagery released since the August 27 Extended Look on Netflix. The Issue 382 cover itself uses original Rockstar artwork featuring dual protagonists Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos.
Print and Digital Access
The digital edition of Issue 382 goes live on September 29, with print copies shipping to subscribers and reaching retail in the weeks that follow. The issue is available in the US and internationally across more than 50 countries.
Why It Matters at This Stage
Rockstar has historically kept third-party press at arm’s length during development. A 14-page hands-off feature less than eight weeks before the November 19 console launch follows the Netflix Extended Look and extends official visibility into the parts of Leonida — weather, wildlife, regional diversity — that trailers and brief footage windows have only hinted at. It also signals that the controlled marketing rollout is entering a more active phase as launch nears.
GTA 6 launches November 19, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. A PC version has been confirmed by Take-Two but carries no announced release date.
